The Celebrations will take place in Wellington New Zealand on the 10th March 2023 - and Liverpool UK from the 16th - 18th June 2023.
Wellington Programme
Friday 10th March 2023
1100 Otaki Commemoration Service, dedicated to the New Zealand Shipping Company, at the ss Otaki Memorial, Otaki College. Otaki.
1200 Meet and Greet, with New Zealand Shipping Company Exhibition, and refreshments, in Otaki College Hall.
1330 Celebratory Luncheon at Otaki RSA.
The Commemoration Service is a large event, supported by the Royal New Zealand Navy, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Government and local dignitaries are normally in attendance.
Liverpool Programme
Friday 16th June
1800 onwards. Meet and greet and Registry. Adelphi Hotel main lounge.
Saturday 17th June
1100 Guided walking tour of Albert Dock. A very popular tour explaining the history of the dock, together with all the exhibits. This would take between one and a half hours and two hours. Plenty of resting places during the walk!
1400 . Guided tour of the Maritime Museum.
1730 Meet in Main Lounge, Adelphi Hotel. Meet and greet and welcome drink.
1830 Celebratory three course Dinner. Adelphi Hotel.
Sunday 18th June.
1100 2 hour river cruise on a Mersey Ferry, including a “Scouse” Lunch.
1300 Final farewells!

NZ Shipping Company Assn
Welcome to the web site of The New Zealand Shipping Company Assn. (Incorporated), dedicated to the memory of the NZSCo and FSNCo.
The Shipping Company existed during the golden period of British Merchant Service. Passenger, Cargo and Cadet ships concentrated on shipping the produce of Australasia for a hundred years.
The Company existed from 1873 - 1971 with the last ships being disposed of in 1983. FSNCo existed as a shipowner from 1894 - 1983.
The Association consists of former employees of the New Zealand Shipping Company (NZSCo) and Federal Steam Navigation Co. (FSNCo).
Social gatherings take place from time to time and the Newsletter "Crossed Flags" is sent to all financial members.

Membership
The New Zealand Shipping Company Association (Incorporated)
Membership of the association is open to all former employees of the New Zealand Shipping Company, both sea based or ashore.
The aim of the Association is to provide a social platform to enable members to maintain contact with former colleagues. A newsletter, "Crossed Flags" is produced 4 times a year and distributed to all financial members. Members' contributions to this are always welcome.
Group get-togethers are encouraged whether locally or nationally. At present the membership totals are approximately 82 in NZ, 102 in the U.K. 23 in Australia and 6 in the rest of the world. (2022).

Objectives
The objects of the Association endeavour:-
- To provide a social platform for former employees of the NZSCo and FSNCo. to meet.
- To foster, promote and encourage interest amongst members of the Association and others in the history and ships of the New Zealand Shipping Company Ltd.
MEMBERSHIP:
The members of the Society shall be:
- All persons who at the date of the adoption of these Rules are members of The New Zealand Shipping Company Association (Incorporated) and who have paid their annual subscription to the end of the current year, and who in all other respects is eligible for membership; and
- All persons who shall hereafter be duly elected as members provided that they were formerly employed by the New Zealand Shipping Company Ltd or the Federal Steam Navigation Company Ltd. either: - Sea based or Shore Based
New members shall be admitted to the Society upon the Association's receipt of completed application and joining fee.
